On 02.05.2025 we have visitors and there will be our next event on: “Green Anarchy What is green anarchism? What strategies does it have to offer? Let’s understand and reject the ideas of the critique of civilization and the principle of anthropocentrism together!
Whether eco-anarchism, anti-civ, post-civ or primitivism. These are all confusing pigeonholes and labels that can be summarized under green anarchism. There are different ideas or approaches here and there (including those that are to be criticized), but a particular core of such currents – the critique of civilization – is a part that should not be underestimated and is very important for finding answers to global problems. Today, the term civilization is used to describe humanity without understanding the hierarchical and destructive principles behind it. Civilizations have an ideology that includes a belief in progress and the conviction that certain social groups are superior to others. In general, civilization centralizes power in a few people, extending their control over other people, non-human animals and nature.
We should take a closer look at this to perhaps realize that anarchism can be more than striving for a utopia for humans alone.
The event will take place on Friday, 02.05.2025 in the Theater der Gezeiten (Schmechtingstr 40 Bochum). Start is at 18.00 – end around 21.00.
Food books, brochures
There will be vegan/plant-based food. We will also have a table of books and brochures – with numerous texts including eco-anarchist, post- and anti-civilizational ones. Food, books and brochures are free. If you have money, you can donate for new food and new books – of course also those who don’t take food or books can donate.
Accessibility, language and protection.
The event will be held in German. Whispered translation will be provided on site. The venue is unfortunately not completely wheelchair accessible. This is a high priority for our own place.
We will not allow members of right-wing, fascist or other authoritarian organizations such as the Sarah Wagenknecht Alliance to enter. Wearing national or party symbols will also lead to expulsion.
Fanny’s and Fanya’s is an initiative that aims to found an anarchist center in Bochum. As part of our anarchism, an anti-colonial perspective (including the abolition of as much of industrialized society as possible) is important to us.
We also see ourselves as queer (but non-queer people can also join us) and a large part of the group is trans and not heterosexual. You can find out more about us here.
